Theater doesn’t start with a coat rack<\/h2>\n\n

In the fall of 2016, a scandal erupted in the very heart of Ukraine. Kievans were shocked by the architectural design of the renovated “Theater on Podol”. It seems that only the lazy one did not post on the social network the information that \u201cthis is a crematorium,\u201d \u201cthe building does not fit into the style of Andreevsky,\u201d and other equally important expert opinions.<\/p>\n\n

We, industrial design specialists, do not undertake to judge the success of this project. We just want to note that in Western Europe and the United States, such decisions by architectural firms are not uncommon. In historic districts, modern buildings appear that instantly attract attention.<\/p>\n\n

Walking around Gdansk, you can feel how you fall through a wormhole and in a moment find yourself among the Mayan peoples. Shakespeare’s theater resembles a temple of an ancient civilization.<\/p>\n\n

Paris is also known as a city of daring architectural experiments. At first, residents hostilely perceived the Louvre pyramid and the Eiffel Tower. Is it worth reminding that now these are the visiting cards of the capital? Of the recent flamboyant buildings, the Georges Pompidou National Center for Art and Culture should be noted. Outwardly similar to a manufacturing plant, the Center includes the Museum of Contemporary Art, a library, the Institute for Research and Coordination of Acoustics and Music, a center industrial design<\/a> (\u201cCLONE\u201d should go on an excursion).<\/p>\n\n

If the French made the Center one of the hallmarks of their city, then the inhabitants of the principality of Liechtenstein were not so supportive of the delights of architectural design. In 2008, the Liechtenstein Museum of Art was ranked among the ten ugliest buildings in the world.<\/p>\n\n

As you can see, an architecture designer must be both an engineer and a creator at the same time. Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, the Graduate School of Civil Engineering and Design in Germany, noted:<\/p>\n\n

What is architectural environment design?<\/h2>\n\n

Architectural design (or design of an architectural environment) is a type of design activity that is aimed at creating an aesthetic and comfortable environment for humans.<\/p>\n\n

In the 1930s, a subway was being built in Moscow. The best architects and designers from all over the USSR were invited to design. The architects were directly involved in the design of the structure of the metro and stations, while the designers solved the problems of finishing the underground halls, station facades, the appearance of the carriages and even the uniforms of employees.<\/p>\n\n

In 2017, an architect is simply obliged to master the art of designing not only practical, but also attractive externally objects. And also be a little computer genius so that at first to bring the idea to the screen<\/a> , then create a layout with 3D printing<\/a> , and already at the very end – go to bricks and cement.<\/p>\n\n

With a modular type of construction, a building, like a constructor, is assembled from parts. The advantage of the assembly is the short terms of the project. Disadvantages are their fragility and limitations in height. Sometimes architects imitate the modularity of a building during conventional monolithic construction: it is just a fashion statement that is easily done by architectural firms.<\/p>\n\n

The main disadvantage is the complexity of glass maintenance. It is necessary to wash the outside of the structure once every two weeks. Frameless windows make it impossible to ventilate the room, so you need to think over the air conditioning system in advance. If you are not a fan of flaunting your life, you are unlikely to like the “openness” of this system.<\/p>\n\n

Plus – the incredible beauty of the views outside the window. Provided that you do not live near a landfill \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

Conciseness<\/h3>\n\n

Strict straight lines. Simple geometry. Parametric ornament. These are signs of architectural minimalism. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe described his main concept as follows: “The less, the more.” Throwing away the superfluous, leaving the best.<\/p>\n\n

Natural materials are used in this architectural style, a special place belongs to stone, wood, glass. The color scheme is calm shades. Similar repeating shapes are often used within the same object. Every item in the house has several functions.<\/p>\n\n
