3D scanning for 3D printing

3D printing technologies, as a rule, are built on the layer-by-layer build-up of polymers, but this is not the only way to print on a 3D printer.

3D technologies have long become a mass phenomenon and an integral part of our life. 3d printing and 3D scanning are in great demand and are available to everyone today. The creation and printing of 3d models has become an indispensable element of production processes.

3d scan objects allows you to get a 3D model of especially large, complex in shape or hard-to-reach objects. As a result, you have a highly accurate 3d model in a short time. During many years of practice, KLONA has accumulated considerable experience in working with all sorts of 3D scanners. All you need to do is formulate the problem, we will do the rest for you. 3D scanning and 3D printing is our life’s work, and we guarantee the result of every completed project!

3D printing

This is the process of creating a volumetric detailed product by converting a 3D graphic image into a real object. To obtain a volumetric model, as a rule, he uses a 3D scanner or creates a 3D shape.

3D printer

A device that implements 3D printing using various materials, such as: plastic, silicone, acrylic, concrete, hydrogel, gypsum, wood fibers, paper, nylon, stone or polymer chips, metal, etc. It is with the help of a professional 3d-printer, which has almost limitless possibilities and high-quality printing, that the 3d-model of the product you need is created!

3D printing technologies, as a rule, are built on the layer-by-layer build-up of polymers, but this is not the only way to print on a 3D printer.

3D PRINTING METHODS

Laser sintering of powders.

Printing is carried out using a special powder that is supplied to the printer and is distributed over the entire printing surface using a rotating shaft. Excess materials remaining in the printing process, the printer removes itself and applies them when applying the next layer. This method provides high accuracy of printing, but an uneven surface of the finished product, which requires mandatory post-processing.

Stereolithography.

The most commonly used 3D printing method is based on the interaction of a laser beam and a photopolymer resin. In those places where the beam and the resin are in contact, the composition hardens, after which another layer of photopolymer is applied, etc. The printer removes the remaining unused material by itself and uses them in applying the next layer.

Bonding of powders.

With this method, water-based glue and starch-cellulose powder are supplied to the printer head. The powder is bonded with glue, and this is how the contours of the model are formed. The voids of the product are subsequently curled with liquid wax, which gives the object additional strength.

Inkjet modeling.

For this type of printing, wax is used as a supporting material, and completely different compositions can be used as modeling materials. As a rule, such materials have properties and features similar to structural thermoplastics. The printing process is based on the principle of simultaneous application of modeling and supporting materials, which results in photopolymerization and subsequent mechanical alignment. Inkjet is suitable for creating hard and soft products.

  • Creation of a prototype of a new product required for presentation to the customer;
  • Manufacturing a part of a mechanism, in case of a breakdown or loss of a part of any type of device, using a 3D scanner and three-dimensional printing technologies, you can easily recreate the desired part;
  • Printing of decorative elements;
  • Printout of presentation layout;
  • Development of jewelry and bijouterie, etc.

Our company KLONA will help you create the desired volumetric product using any of the above methods of 3D printing. In addition, we will select for you high-quality materials and the most profitable printing method for solving your specific task. Printing 3d models is one of the main directions of our activity, and we are responsible for the high-quality results of each project.

APPLICATION OF 3D PRINTING TECHNOLOGIES:

3D SCANNING

One of the ways to create and build a 3D model is 3D scanning. The presence of a 3D scanner allows you to build a 3D model without using professional graphics programs, significantly speeds up the process and makes it much easier.

3D laser scanners build 3D models based on the analysis of a physical object. 3d scanning of objects allows you to recreate the most accurate and high-quality model quickly and efficiently. However, 3d scanning should be done under the guidance and supervision of a professional engineer. Scanning results, which will still have some error, are subsequently edited in special graphic programs, i.e. they are finalized at the stage of 3d modeling. Then you can proceed directly to 3D printing.

KLONA provides 3D scanning services. The technical arsenal of our company has collected 3D scanners for working with a variety of physical objects, of all types and sizes.

Any 3D scanner works on the basis of the stereo vision principle. A scanner, like the human eye, can measure the size of a physical object and the distance to it.

Three-dimensional scanning is carried out in the following ways:

Contact

3d scanner, which needs to create direct contact with a physical object to carry out the scanning process.

Contactless

3D scanning of objects does not require the creation of direct contact with a physical object, which in turn makes it possible to carry out 3D scanning for hard-to-reach and large-sized objects – jewelry, architectural structures and cultural monuments.

There are two types of non-contact 3d scanner:
– active non-contact 3d scanner – uses a laser beam or light. When a ray is reflected from the surface of an object, the scanner builds a model based on the reflection data.
– passive non-contact 3d scanner – this type of device takes as a basis for building a model an already existing reflection of a physical object, as a rule, sunlight.

Benefits of 3D scanning:

1. High accuracy of the resulting model – 3D scanning of objects allows you to recreate even the smallest and most insignificant details of the object;
2. High speed – 3d scanning is done in minutes;
3. Mobility – the 3D scanner can be positioned at various angles, this helps to easily carry out the scanning process of especially large sizes;
4. Easy to apply;
5. Does not require the creation of special lighting;
6. Does not harm a physical object.

KLONA company provides 3D scanning services and carries out high-quality 3D printing of models of any complexity. In addition, we will assist you in creating a prototype based on a 3D model of the object and make a trial series of products!

If your idea seems unattainable to you, then believe me it is not so! Modern 3D technologies give manufacturers as many opportunities as they are not even able to use in practice. As Benjamin Franklin, the great man who gave the world a lightning rod, bifocals, glass harmonica and much more, said: “Just as we enjoy the benefits granted to us by the inventions of others, we should rejoice at the opportunity to serve others the same. Any invention of ours should be open and free of charge. ” Therefore, enjoy the advantages and opportunities given to you, and use them to implement your ideas!
